Please Use Our Secure ” School Meal Credit ” Payment System

We provide a Pay in advance service for Parents. Your son or daughter will be provided with a card which you can top up using our secure online system using a credit or debit card. Funds are drawn down on this card as purchases are made.

Once you make an online payment, we will have a card ready for collection for your son or daughter with the required funds attached. The card may be collected from the canteen in each school. For meal credit top ups, further info on our daily service and menu details please use the tabs below.

OUR ETHOS

Rafters have expanded into School Catering since 2014. We now cater for over 4000 students daily. Our ethos is very simple, each chef in our school catering sector use only the very best ingredients in producing all our lunches. Each school has its own Chef on site that can expertly cater for all dietary requirements. All lunches are produced on site daily.

Our menus for healthy school lunches are inspired by the High Street and current trends for student’s age 11 to 18 years old. They are designed to meet the evolving expectations of these students with value, variety and wide ranging tastes and choices. Our 4 weekly menus rotate and change twice a year to prevent menu fatigue, keep things exciting and to reflect seasonal ingredients and menu choices. 

We design our menus with healthy eating at the forefront. Whether it’s a hot or cold items our menus have been produced with care and thought given to our student’s taste buds and health. All our soups produced on site each day are suitable for vegetarians (vegetable soup), free from trans fat and are Gluten Free. Our grab and go items consist of a selection of fresh fruit, fruit pots, yogurts, freshly made sandwiches, wraps and Paninis (which may be toasted).

Our bakery section provides a selection of freshly baked goods including baguettes, wraps, sandwiches and scones. All our baguettes for the most part are wholemeal and multigrain which provide for a healthier option.

As a company we are also committed to employing all local staff in so far as possible in our school catering sector and provide part time employment for students of our schools in our restaurant.

DAILY SERVICE

  1. Breakfast Club 8am to 8.45 am (Before Class)

We provide a selection of natural yogurts, weetabix, oatmeal porridge, granola, oatmeal porridge with chia seeds, fresh fruit, grab and go fruit pots, toast, grilled bacon, beans, and scrambled egg. In addition we also have available tea, still water, apple and orange juice and flavoured water.

  1. Mid Morning Break 

We provide a selection of grab and go items, such as freshly made baguettes, Panini’s, fruit pots, pasta pots, salad pots, soup, toast and homemade scones, 

  1. Lunch Time Service

We provide the full range available on our daily menu. We do encourage students to pre order their lunch as it allows for increased speed and efficiency of service. We also offer our 3 daily items of choice in our Bain Marie during lunch service where students who have not pre ordered may purchase lunch. In addition we also have our grab and go service available at this time.

We also provide a daily Power Lunch and a Power Salad for those keenly involved in sports activities throughout the day and indeed all who have a keen interest in a healthy body. We have a daily vegetarian and vegan option available, our vegetarian option and power lunch or salad must be pre ordered either before class from 8am to 8.45am or during mid morning break. We also tailor our menus for gluten free and halal dietary requirements. Students may speak to the Chef on site if they have any concerns in relation to dietary requirements. Meals can be ordered before lunch in the canteen or chosen at mealtime but pre-ordering  ensures your son or daughters meal choice is guaranteed. Vegetarian and power lunch options must be pre ordered.
